A Bit About Me...

I have been making walking sticks for close to 15 years now. I've always liked the security and balance of walking with a walking stick and decided to try making my own. I am very pleased with the results and started out giving them to friends and family as gifts. They all prompted me to start selling these and here I am!

I began experimenting with different wood types and settled on Aspen for their strength, lightweight and finished look. I very quickly realized I had found my niche! I find great satisfaction if the making of these walking sticks and the joy others have in using them.

Crooked Branch Walking sticks have been shipped worldwide! My walking sticks have gone on to new owners in such places as Europe, South America and throughout North America. I also have attended many local craft fairs and community events with great success.

Here I am with my bike on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina on my trip to the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee

Crooked Branch Walking Sticks have been given as Christmas gifts, birthday and anniversary gifts and I even had a groom order 4 for thank you gifts for his groomsmen.

I live in Kanata, Ontario, am very happily married and have 4 grown children. I'm an accomplished cook (and have produced a line of ground pepper spices called “Johnny's”), a long time minor hockey coach, and a motorcycle enthusiast!
